The cigar was provided by Simon Bolivar following a thread i posted regarding aged Cohibas
I wasnt sure which Cohiba it was , so checking the ring gauge and the length , Siglo 4 it is , and from 03
Ring gauge 46
Length 143 , altho mine measured 140 , it still could only be a Siglo 4
Method of cut.....punch
Method of light.....triple jet
Wrapper.....light brown , no shine or oils
First third
a headyness on the first couple of draws and then immediately spice , beautiful controlled flavoursome spice , combined with a cedar wood , lots of white creamy smoke , lots of it and very fragrant.....beautiful
the draw was perfect , the strength medium
Second third
a continuation of the first , spice cedar and a quality tobacco thro out , the burn is razor sharp
Final third
WOW now im on a journey , weve just ramped up the flavours x 10 , BEAUTIFUL , the first two thirds have prepared me and eased me into the third , cedar , still controlled spice but at another level , this is fantastic , the white creamy smoke is still plenty full , iv never known so much smoke , beautiful.
Finally band removed and with 3/4" left the cigar went out
I dont normally smoke in the house any more as i have a grand daughter , but its xmas and this aged Cohiba demanded more than my herf shack , i dont normally do reviews , but a few words at least were more than warranted .
Has Simon convinced me of the benefits of ageing Cohibas ? YES HE HAS 100%
Would i buy and age Siglo 4.....YES
AND , a bold statement that i find VERY easy to make ,
THE siglo 4 , 03 i smoked IS the finest cigar i have ever smoked .
Thanks again Simon
