This is Foundry's monster 7" x70 stick from the Elements range and its a big lump of Nicaraguan tobacco. The wrapper has an oily finish and is beautifully constructed without a seam visible. This one had been out of its cello for a while and just had a faint tobacco scent. Overall the stick was quite firm. Cutting this was a bit of a problem and I went for a cross cut with my V cutter which seemed to work. The cold draw had some resistance and tasted of salted caramel.
I brought out my big four jet lighter to start her up and that took two attempts.
Right off the bat the smoke was very mild in flavour with no pepper at all and tasted malty.
In common with other Foundrys it produced plenty of smoke but the burn started to go askew after only half an inch.
It was also an effort to smoke, there's a lot of tobacco to move that smoke through and I found myself needing to suck two or three times for each draw.
After the first inch the taste became nutty and creamy and that is where it stayed for the next two and a quarter hours.
In that time I smoked two inches and had corrected the burn twice and relit it four times. I just got fed up and let it go which seems a terrible waste but it just got boring.
It didn't produce masses of nicotine but that two inches produced a pleasant buzz.
