Here's a cigar you won't come across very often and this one was gifted to me by Aaron. That big label lists everything you need to know about the cigar. 6.25" x48 and hand rolled in Ventura, California from a blend of a Mexican Sumatran wrapper containing Nicaraguan and US ligero and other fillers from Peru, Honduras and the DR. This is a beautifully constructed cigar with an almost leathery look to it. The stick had just the right amount of spring and smelled almost like a Cuban (heresy). Once cut the cold draw was very easy and tasted faintly of coffee.
Lit easily and burned perfectly with no relights or corrections required at all and a beautiful ash that fell three times during the hour and a quarter it lasted.
And the taste, a rich malted nut flavour with just a hint of pepper on the back of the palate and a slightly tannic dryness. Sadly it got a bit harsh into the final quarter and wouldn't be purged so I let it go with an inch and a half left.
I think this would appeal to a lot of you but I wouldn't choose it ahead of something else.
