Drew Estate Tabak Especiale Robusto Dulce

Here then is another of Jonathan Drew's experiments in combining Nicaraguan tobacco and coffee beans. Great solid looking robusto measuring 5" x54 and wrapped in a Connecticut wrapper that smells of sweet cocoa. The feel is quite soft and it has a shaggy foot. Once punched the draw as expected was very light and it had a faint coffee flavour, like a milky coffee. The cap was sweetened but that wore off in minutes.
It lit very easily but the shaggy foot was showing an inclination to flower so I tidied it up carefully with the end of my pencil and it was fine. As was to be expected the taste was mild with a natural sweetness and a hint of coffee on the back of the palate. The surprise came at half way when it changed totally into a strong roasted almond flavour that kept me going till it got uncomfortably warm towards the end. I didn't get a lot of coffee but it was a very good smoke.

If you had one, you'd probably remember....Drew Estates Sticks are hard to forget. They offer an awesome sampler on this side of the Atlantic that comes in an awesome tin. Well worth a go if you are interested in this sort of thing.
