La Abeja are a boutique blend founded last year by the humidor manager of the Party Source. He planned to ship 380 boxes of 15 last year so starting small. The cigar itself is a Nicaraguan puro and comes in at 5.25" x47. The wrapper is a toothy Colorado with a triple cap and smelled of sweet tobacco. It was quite firm but not hard, just a little give to it. Once cut the draw was easy and tasted slightly salty with a hint of pepper.
First impression on lighting was a burst if white pepper that settled down very quickly to a leathery nutty taste with just hints of pepper. The burn was straight but the ash dropped every half an inch. The burn was also slow and a few relights were required. The wrapper started to unravel slightly a third of the way down but it burned past it. For me this cigar just didn't go anywhere and if anything was a little boring. I gave up on it.
Big thank you to Aaron for sending it over though.
