This is another of the infused range from Drew Estate and the colour of the band indicates each cigar's strength. The Kuba Kuba is blue so its mild-medium. This stick comes in at 5" x54 and has a wrapper that appears to be Colorado Maduro in colour and John Drew doesn't reveal where his components come from. What you do get though is a very well made cigar from the best ingredients with a little something extra added. This stick was springy to the touch and the wrapper had a slightly oily appearance with visible but well suppressed veins. I took it out of the cellophane and oh my god, it smelt like potpourri! Do people really smoke these? It had a double cap and when I punched it, it cut cleanly but the cap stayed inside so I had to fish it out. The cold draw fortunately did not taste of potpourri but was slightly earthy and I'm pleased so say that the scented flavour never showed its head again.
Once lit I got a small hit of artificial sweetness from the cap which didn't last long, certainly not as sweet as a Copper Label. The initial flavour once it had settled down had definite hints of chocolate and after about 1/2" a floral note started to develop, much like those artisan chocolates you can buy. The smoke was very mild and very smooth and there was plenty of it. The draw was perfect as was the burn. As I previously said, love em or hate em but Acids are well made sticks.
In the second third a hint of pepper developed on the back of the palate but it was never overpowering and into the final leg and the taste became leathery.
This cigar lasted me an hour and a quarter and I smoked it as far as I could before it became a little too warm for me. Overall a very nice experience but I still prefer the Acid One.
Finally a big thank you to Trickle who gifted me this in an exchange and lured me into the world of infused cigars.
