So bought this by chance really. Went to see Simon at my smoking shop to pick up a Diplomaticos No. 1 and he recommended me this. He said he knew he had them just didn't realise they where so old!

Was very eager to try this once I picked it up but I was saving it for an occasion. Well Wigan beating City again was a good enough occasion for me.

So I went out side this evening and lit it up.

The smelly was very mild and musty. Not like most cigars I've come across even aged ones.

Draw was firm and unlit taste was smooth leather. It lit up very easily and the flavour was much the same. I gave it a few pulls and was a tad disappointed with how mild it was. I was wondering if it was a bit of a dud after all these years.

I was rewarded with my patience, the first half was very mild and didn't taste much stronger than it smelled. As it progressed though it became apparent this was a very simple but beautiful cigar. The smooth leather taste became richer and was enhanced with a dry cedar note. No hint of pepper or sweetness just savoury bliss.

By the time I got to the middle of the stick it was in full flow and I was really enjoying it. I had a dram of glenlivet with me that by pure coincidence complimented it brilliantly with it's own subtle flavours and the odd square of blueberry Lindt went down nicely as well.

The burn was perfect I did have to touch it up once though to keep it alight and the draw did get very firm into the final third but a quick massage around the band and back came the creamy smoke.

Got ever so slightly warm towards the end and I'd have happily have smoked this till it burned my fingers but I got chatting and it went out with 3/4 an inch left so I left it there.

Highly recommended get these whilst there still there.

Sounds like an awesome cigar, I've not smoked many long thin guaged cigars.
