This is my third CAO cigar now and like its predecessors it did not fail to impress. This torpedo is 6.25" by 52. CAO took the successful blend of Nicaraguan tobacco from the successful Gold range and wrapped it in a Brazilian Maduro wrapper which has a lovely cocoa scent and an oily sheen to it. The stick was firm but not hard and had an earthy scent at the foot. Once cut the draw was easy and has a mild earthy taste with a hint of saltiness on the lips.
Once lit this cigar produced masses of smoke all the way through even at rest. Said smoke started out smooth and creamy but developed a tannic edge to it occasionally throughout its life. The flavour was mild and leathery with hints of espresso that appeared and disappeared again. Overall it had a very clean taste with a touch of sweetness that lingered well after I had put it down. The final inch got a bit warm and peppery or I would have taken it further.
The burn was perfect and no touch ups or relights were required at all. I did have to snip the end a little higher because it was restricting the draw, thanks to whoever it was posted that tip recently. The ash was a firm light grey that held well and only required three drops.
Another good cigar from CAO and thanks to VTG for suggesting it.
