Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales
Size:
5.2" long x 42 ring gauge.
Appearance: 8/10
Slightly boxed pressed, but a nice dark oily looking wrapper.
Construction: 9.0/10
This cigar burns really well and gives a decent amount of resistance. I would say most would smoke it in around the 50min mark but if you are able to push it a bit further you will enjoy it more. I enjoyed mine for over an hour but I did let it go out a couple of times.
Flavour: 9.5/10
Pre draw - wood, hay, spicy.
1/3 - Full flavoured tobacco hit with a hint of sweetness.
2/3 - BOOM! this cigar is strong, you can sense that there is complexity to this cigar but it is drowned out by the the richness of the rough/rustic tobacco flavours. This is not a criticism, its just that it would be easy to mistake this cigar as one dimensional.
3/3 - Still going strong.
This cigar is powerful and to its credit its strength challenged my pallet without experiencing any harshness. This was something that really surprised me.
Value: 9/10
I am giving this a 9/10 because at around ?10 this little cigar stood up as after dinner smoke (I had just eaten an epic meal ). I paired it with a very strong cup of tea and it has left me feeling satisfied in a way that some larger sticks have failed to live up to.
Overall: 9/10
Good construction, with a very full flavour. This cigar is consistent but not boring and will not leave you looking for more.
Although true when smoking any cigar, i would really recommend picking the right situation when enjoying this cigar. Despite being small I would not treat it as a quick smoke (to avoid harness) nor a morning smoke, unless you like a strong start to your day .
One I will be revisiting in the future.
