  • Don Kiki red (torpedo)

Some days, when I fancy a smoke, I don't want a full pallets, or a refined nut and caramel taste in my cigar. There is a frequent need for a good raw, well performing smoke.

Enter Don Kiki, these guys are from Cuban crafters and as far as I know they're exclusive to them, the available range are red label, white label, brown label and green label, each offering their own strength and character.

Don Kiki has been good to me, to this day I have not had a bad performing stick, each label and vitola has given me fantastic draw and an lovely overall experience. The red label which is in the spotlight for this thread offers as very raw taste for lack of better wording. When I want a good tobacco taste for the rest of the day, I'll pick up mr Kiki.

As mentioned, the draw is always loose, a pre light draw always has that loose sucking air feeling (you all know what I mean) which in my experience means that I will be having NO issues.

I like these guys and have gone through a box of reds, and greens. The green is milder, but the red offers a bit more rawness to the overall taste sensation.

Some could say this could qualify as a work horse smoke rather than a premium experience but I prefer the reliable sheep dog over a prize winning poodle.

Price is very reasonable and you get a lot of burn for your buck, anything that produces more smoke than a coal power station is a good cigar by me, thanks Don!

Long time no see Mr B. I've liked the brown label botella in the past, but it's been some time.

Where have you been all this time, keeping well I hope? Any meat flavours in this one?

I love me my Reds. One of the best bargain smokes around. Keep on preaching the gospel, Mr. B!

Never heard of these but agree sometimes u just want to smoke a cheap, decent cigar. In my case, mainly because I'm not too sure what's going to pull me indoors within 15 minutes of lighting up first; rain or the wife.

Ha, just busy with work! Got offered a job in Sept which trumped my self employment [and majority of free time] in exchange for a more structured life, but the up side - more moneys for cigars!

Enjoying a personal cigar boom at the minute, so just seeing whats up , always thinking of me BOTLS at UKCF!
