Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Junior
Size. 4" X 38
Wrap. Hon. Bind. Dom. Nic. Fill. Dom. Nic
Visually this little cigar looked very good & impressive, fortunately the two wide bands were easy to remove pre-light.
Maduro wrapper looked dark & finely veined with an oily sheen, the cigar itself was a mixture of very firm, lumpy and towards the foot very soft'
The cut was easy & pre-light draw almost zero resistance. Grass/ Musty aroma.
Quick toast & draw, huge smoke & instantly a ragged burn. I carried on hoping it would even out, it didn't!
The first mouthful of smoke was hot & acrid, no discernable flavour apart from bitter wood.
I gentled out my smoking norm as I'm used to a larger RG, this didn't help at all, the more I concentrated on the cigar the more acrid & unpleasant it got...
Just under the first third I decided to get a picture or two as I wasn't enjoying this cigar at all..it went out almost immediately and helped me make up my mind not to bother re-lighting this disaster of a cigar.
I clipped the smoked end & cut lengthwise down the cigar, as you'll see from the pictures, the RP was tunneling, hardly surprising as the central fillers were dry as camel chips the fillers pretty ragged. the binder was coarse & looked awful & the wrapper two layer very very thin...
On the left of the picture are 3 rock solid veins taken out from the filler..you can judge the size for yourselves..IMHO huge for this little vitola!
The obvious caterpillar's handiwork on the binder didn't make me smile much either...
Picture Story!

All in all, I cannot rate a cigar of this quality, my apologies for my poor photography.
