Standard looking cigar, medium brown in colour a couple of visible veins nothing too major.





Construction: 4.0/10

Pre light draw didn?t have too much resistance, on lighting I lost nearly 2cm of the wrapper on one side where the cigar was completely under filled. It didn?t smoke to bad up until the 2/3rd where the cigar had completely softened up, as this was my first partagas, I was disappointed to say the least.



Flavour: 3/10

Pre draw - Leathery

1/3 - Strong tobacco flavours.

2/3 - No evolution in flavour

3/3 - Very harsh, burnt flavours.



Value: 4/10


at around 80 cuc a box of 10, which is what I paid in Cuba this is seemingly good value for money. However if I tasted this blind I would have guessed that it was a good European machine made cigar and definitely not a cigar from Cuba. Sounds rude but I will probably keep a couple by to see if there is any change a give the rest out as gifts to friends and family

A complete disappointment for me tbh and one of my worst smokes, definitely my worst Cuban smoke.

never smoked this cigar but i would say you should smoke a few to give a fair judgement and the cigar is only 4 or 5 months old it will need more time

Pete's correct, the minimum recommended age for smoking these is 3 years. Though to be honest your review is pretty much as the vitola .... hopefully they may mellow out with a year or two in the box.

I had a couple of these, but the tubos, a few years back and I similarly, was under-impressed. Strong tobacco , one dimensional and a tad harsh after the first third. I recently found one in my luggage from the trip back then and it seems the cap was loose, so won't be smoking that.

Don't let your experience put you off Partagas though

Manning, this is one of the worst Party's going, never liked them. Better spending a few bucks more for the better examples like Party Short or Tres Petit. Party's are one of the great brands so please don't judge it by this ol' duffer.

Ha ha, a fitting epitaph sir! I must say, I only bought them out of curiosity when in Spain. Never again.

Aged or not the Partagas de Luxe is a very rustic, old-school Partagas. For a similar price the Mille Fleur or the Super Partagas are much more "civilized".

Yea I wont be put of partagas, but I think I will stay away from these in future.
