Appearance: This cigar had a colorado maduro colour wrapper with a slight green patch on it, was smooth and shiny, it had minimal light veins, and had the Casa Del Habano ring wrapped around it, a beautiful looking cigar indeed.

Construction: It looked well rolled and felt great in the hand, slighty spongy when compressed, not too firm or hard and no tight spots at all. The draw was good until the last third but it burnt uneven for almost the entire length of the cigar, it was very unsettled and held an almost firm greyish white ash.

Flavour: Pre-draw i was getting sweet notes of wood, some spice and a touch of hay, quite pleasant mild flavours indeed.
The first third started off a little to bitter and erratic, i was getting some woody tones, but i was fighting with the uneven burn so much it was hard to get anything for the first half inch, which was all over the place and needed constant correction.
Eventually it started to come round a little and i was getting some woody notes, slightly soapy with some very mild spice and hints of toast coming through. I got some nice nutty tones here and there, and some cocoa notes creeping through, but the cigar was just not settled enough for me to get deep into the flavour.
The second third was getting a little better than first, some slight bitterness still present, but smokey woody notes and mild nutmeg spice coming through, not overly complex but a consistent show of flavours, it seems to be improving. Some nice beany notes detected with some hints of cocoa and a little sweetness on exhale, but overshadowed by the taste of an unsettled young cigar. Still it continued to produce good flavours, some notes of nutmeg and mild coffee coming through now and then, some strong tobacco flavours here and there, with the odd tone of smokey wood too. Still a little out of sorts and neither here nor there at the end of the second, things may pick up in the final third.
The final third started a little better flavourwise, i was getting nutty, woody and spicy notes coming through a little stronger with a hint of toasted coffee bean present on exhale, however the uneven burn needed some attention, once again. Once corrected the stick produced some good beany flavours with hints of sweet grass combined. Some smokey woody flavours started to come through again and medium tobacco notes, with hints of coffee and a pleasant sweet surprise of caramel. This was short lived as i could not draw anymore, it was as though it was burning too hot, i got nothing with about an inch left, so i had to put this Casa Del Habano cigar to rest.

Overall: This cigar for me was too young and needs more time imo, it's just not settled enough. It produced a medium bodied smoke, with promise of good flavours, however they never really came, the burn was very erratic and needed constant correction, i think dry boxing may help the next time i smoke one. Maybe when i revisit in a year or two, they'll be much more settled and produce a better smoke, but right now it's just not ready.
It is way behind the Gold Medal and behind the Superiores, it would be fair to say that this stick has potential...
