Okay so here goes, first one of this series from me.
Note before we begin, don't let me sway you one way or tother as I know very little about most things apart from Anteaters, Lego and stupid Italian bikes that don't start when we finally have a decent evening (hence the review).
Well here's the winner for this year.
Name: Alec Bradley Prensado
Leaf: Honduran Wrapper, Nicaraguan wrapper and a H & N Filler.
Type: Box press Churchill
Cost: About seven of her majesties finest.
It's a Box press Churchill, the constuction is nearly flawless with a very uniform dark brown colour, with a few fine veins, the cap though looks a little bit less than perfect. The cigar is firm to the touch......snip snip.
The prelight draw is a little tight however this may be down to my humi which is at 71% at the moment, predraw is......wow, spicey, very spicey, other than that barny kind of flavours and pepper.....oh hell let's light it.
Okay, very peppery, spicey with a definate note of Chestnuts.....no idea why chestnuts but that nutty sweet taste, plus huge gouts of pleasing white smoke. The ash is salt and peppery and not particularly attractive. At about 1 inch in the spice has settled a little, it's still there, there's still the earthiness and pepper with something else that I can't put my finger on. The burn though isn't exactly even though which i'm also putting down to the humidity.
As things progress, i'm getting Celery, spice (but far more mild) pepper and a neutral kind of earth or something (not quite sure what), a slight bitterness at the back of the throat, but not unpleasant. However the burn is still not great and like many NC's you end up wit the ash falling off every inch or less.

On to the last bit, the cigar has mellowed nicely, there's still a little spice, a more subtle pepperiness and I guess what people would call a butteriness and freshlycut grass, it's settles into a nice relaxing smoke, nothing harsh at all. Though the burn still isn't great, still I didn't need to relight, though a few times I went to get a drink I did have to give a few puffs.
So, what did I think, well like I said construction was good, burn wasn't great but overall taste was very nice, I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar, I don't usually like Churchills as they're a little too big, i'd rather have two robustos instead, nor am I a huge fan of Box pressed cigars. But like I said, a very nice and interesting smoke......
But, the real question, is this the cigar of the year? Well to be honest, I really don't think I'm good enough to answer this, but if you are asking i'd say that there are plenty of other cigars out there just as good....yes, that's a cop out, it's definately in the top 5 and I would certaintly rate it higher than some others like the Siglo VI as its just so much more interesting....but then that's just me.

it's certainly a beautiful looking stick and if it smokes half as nice as it looks,feels and smells then it's gonna be a real treat!
It'd be cool if everyone who got these posted their thoughts on this thread (if thats ok with you Yeti), I'd be really interested to see what different people think. I will certainly do the same
