This is my first attempt at a review, namely of the budget nicaraguan cigar the Chinchalero Picadillo. Its going be short and sweet (to the point of having no real sentences ). This is intentional as at this point in my cigar tasting I have not got a clue what I am talking about.
Well here goes:
Size:
4" long x 52 ring gauge.
Appearance: 7/10
Firm, even shading. Couple of large veins on the wrapper and a un-even cap are the only negatives.
Construction: 7/10
Initial tight draw, after 1st third still had resistance but began to smoke more easily. Straight even burn. Solid ash to the point where it seemed almost half what I was smoking was ash .
Flavour: 7/10
Pre draw some minor grassy notes. On smoking earthy/ woody flavour, yet fairly one dimensional throughout the cigar.
Value: 10/10
At ?2.99 a stick this is a very good value cigar that lasts for 30 - 45 mins. It also makes it cheaper than some European machine made crap.
Overall: 8/10
The only issue for me was the draw on the 1st third. Yes the flavour was uninspiring, but it was not unpleasant. This surely is to be expected from a cigar with such a low price point, as it would be futile to seriously try to compare its flavour profile to premium NC's and Cubans.
Would I recommend? to someone on a budget or has not the time or inclination to think about there smoke. The answer is yes, I myself will revisit next time I have a smoking session with a friend lol.
