Okay so this was a Special I picked up in the States:

A Beautiful dark Maduro and I do mean dark, a little oily with a few fine veins, all packed in shredded leaves and wrapped in a piece of some old womans underwear.

    So, here's the stick.

Predraw was free and slightly woody, it had that kind of leatheryness that doesn't hint to too much, but there is a spiciness, at ths point I really wasn't expecting too much o be honest..

The smoke is quite frankly great throughout, it doesn't change too much, starts out with the leather and hay, loads of pepper, dark biterness of cocoa chocolate. THis is a joy I only wish it was a little bigger.
I smoked this down to the nub, it was beautifully constructed and tasted great and interesting thoughout, though didn't change much until the last inch and a half when a walnuty flavour with a slight sweetness came though Like a kind of brown sugar with a nint of nutmeg, but all the flaours were beautifully balanced, not too strong and not too weak, I'd love to get more as a daily smoke.

Love these guys, so does mynew friend Rexy.

Anything like the Ruination BY? It's one of the few NCs I've really enjoyed.

Yes, yes it is, though a little more "dirty" but in a good way.

Kind of like how Gwyneth Paltrow is a natural beauty but you would still look at the Latin Dirtiness of Eva Mendez if she walked by, no, wait that's a really bad analogy.

Hehe this review sure gave me a chuckle at work, could it be the start of a new trend? Grading a cigar on which well known female they could be????

I'm off to hunt down the smoke that is at first a Jane Seymour gently changing into mix of Kate Blanchett with hints of Helena Christensen finishing with a full on hit of Salma Hayek

So the Gurkha Torpedo I had last week would be an unwashed Dawn French with a Peter Sellers Moustache and a club foot.

Are Gurkhas really that bad? An american friend of mine loves them and I was vaguely thinking about buying some, but to be honest I was attracted by the packaging more than anything else.

Gurkhas are not a bad product, they're beautifully made and very consistent, they have a flaw that they portray themselves as "the best" on the NC stage and they are not, the torp I had was dreadful one of the only cigars i've thrown away due to taste. When you get to 50 PM me your address and i'll send you a Gurkha, some are good.

Thanks for the offer Bad Yeti, I might well take you up on that (I better get posting!). I've been wanting to try Gurkhas ever since my mate has been banging on about them, and when I saw pictures I've got to admit that the fancy bands and packaging were quite enticing. But I've read some mixed reviews about them, and I thought that there were other NCs that I should try first, like the Oliva V series (which I love) and Padrons (I ordered a couple of singles yesterday, can't wait to try them!)
