I bought this cigar as a single from Cgars ltd and paired it up with a balvenie portwood to smoke whilst watching the TV (I think the Murdoch mysteries was on).

I've gone back to lighting with a cedar match since the cigar doesn't get a bitter taste I find with butane lighters and torches. Yes that is an ice cube in the Balvenie ... DEAL WITH IT!

The cigar looked excellent wirth a nice milk chocolate wrapper.

First third: Started off with the taste of old leather. The old leather faded to become a woody taste. I noticed liquorice in the background but I think this was the combination of the smoke and Scotch on my tongue. The draw was good, a small resistance that was just right.

Second third: The taste was now of a light aromatic wood with liquorice and maybe a hint of red wine every now and then on the tongue. The smoke was medium thick with grey/white ash.

Last third: Great cigar, spot on burn and the ash only came off twice when I knocked it off to avoid it hitting the carpet. The taste of liquorice fluctuated more than once but again I believe this is the effect of the excellent dram I was sipping. The hint of red wine came and went a couple of times also. I didn't have to relight only a jump start or two when it was in the dying moments of the final third.

Ended it's life once it got too hot to comfortably draw.
Conclusion:
Taste: Foreground = Old leather at first but quickly changing to a light aromatic wood flavour in the first third. Background = Liquorice from first third to end with hints of red wine by the last third.
Smoke: Medium thick and plenty of it.
Construction: Good with perfect burn all the way through.
Verdict: If this cigar were a woman I'd say she was like Adele. More than enough to keep me warm and satisfied on a cold winter's evening!
In my opinion you can't really go wrong if you're buying one of these.
