Juan Lopez Petite Coronas (2008 vintage).
Ring gauge 42,129 mm in the length.
Appearance; Wrapper was of standard quality, although not as good as the current MC No 4.The entire box of 25 was of excellent uniformity in both its colour and presentation.
Construction; overall good construction. Only one of the cigars had a slight tear at the foot.
Taste; I expected these to be of approximately the same sort of strength as the likes of the Upmann, Hoyo De Monterrey and MC of a similar size. What i found was that they appear to be slightly stronger, more in keeping with the Juan Lopez No1 and No2.The first two thirds of the cigar was reminiscent of the likes of a Partagas Corona, though not as strong as Bolivar. The draw was very good and the cigar burned consistent throughout. The only down side was that the last third of the cigar appeared slightly bitter at times and this seems to be common with the smaller sizes of Juan Lopez.
Summary; The construction, appearance and taste makes for an enjoyable little smoke, and this is an ideal smoke in the morning or afternoon. I have enjoyed these so far and would certainly have no hesitation in buying another box.
Score; I would rate this as a 7/10.
