La Aroma de Cuba New Blend
Churchill (7x50)
Made in Nicaragua
Filler & Binder: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Colour: Colorado Maduro
Strength: Medium-Full
Blender: Don Pepin Garcia
Very first impression:
If I had been given this cigar without a band, then I would need to be forgiven for thinking that I was smoking a first class Cuban cigar.
Taste, warm aroma, appearance, cool draw. All there.
A good smooth draw, and a perfect burn. Very cool. Medium to Medium-full.
1 hour 40 minutes in, and 3" left.....
Hints of licorice with dark chocolate and coffee with a slight earthy flavour. A perfect sharp burn. Long white ash that hung on really well, despite being "powdery".
Towards the end it became more full in flavour, with a little dash of pepper thrown in, but still with the sweetness and liquorice.
A total of 2 hours 20 minutes, and even then it was one of those that you don't want to end. Why did I buy only two of them on my recent trip to the US? I can definitely see a box in my future (although perhaps the same blend in a smaller cigar). I never thought I would say this, but it is every bit as good as a good Cuban, and even better than some.
