  • Quintero Panatella

Monkey Nuts (Geoff) bombed me with one of theses, a Reyes and a Dylan cd this week, most welcome.

the initial fragrance from the stick was one like the Joss sticks i used to burn in my youth, pre light draw was excellent with hints of roasted nuts, once alight the roasted nut and very dark chocolate came with the first mouthful of smoke, my mouth was left with an extremely dry sensation as the initial flavours increased, an intense feeling of cream in my mouth arrived somewhere between the 1st quarter and 1st third and this was how the stick progressed through to the finish, i managed to get 45 minutes enjoyment out of this Panatella, not bad from what Geoff described as a cheapie, whilst it became a bit one dimensional after the 1st third it was to my taste and i shall get some when able. Comparing it to the RyJ petit juleittas i normally smoke for a quickie it was a vast improvement given that out of the last pack of 5 i threw 3 away before halfway with draw problems.

    PEZ RATING SYSTEM

    pre light 20/20

    amount of flavour 17/20

    burn 20/20

    flavour progession 14/20

    pleasure level 18/20

    total 89/100

Sounds like a stick that I may enjoy. I think I may invest in some of these next time I order some relaxation sticks

Quintero has been receiving quite a tongue bath in the ratings of late, so decided to try them. Not a bad cigar, although I wouldn't call it a great cigar. Oddly, I liked the panatella best of the bunch, even though my preferences tend toward bigger, fatter vitolas.

        Glad you enjoyed it Jon.

I probably wouldn't rate it quite as high as you but it ain't bad for what is definitely a 'cheapie'!

I find the last third of these get very bitter for me and I'm always concious not to smoke too quickly and overheat them, but the bitterness usually becomes too much for me and I bin them.

The fisrt two thirds are pretty good though

          Thanks for the review matey.

I have always thought that Quintero's were pretty hit or miss draw wise, had quite a few pluggers!, but the ones that have somked well, have always been quite pleasent for a cheaper stick.
