Som after waiting for over a year to buy a box I finally got to try the Man O War Ruination.

I must say the original Man O War was one of my first cigars I bought (mainly as I like things that look shiny and pretty like).... it was horrid, then I had one from the same batch about 8 months later and loved it, then another, then another then another then....erm ran out.....buggrit!

SO, what's this silly panto all about then:

"What's this all about then Yeti?"

Well i'll tell you, its a Beautiful little Robusto beastie this, Nicaraguan Filler and Binder with an amazing Equadorian Wrapper, fine veins and an oily coat.

AS for taste, pre light earthy and a little bitter.

Once lit thought, well it's no playground weakling this, strong but also very smooth, it had a peppery spiciness to it with dare i say the aftertaste of liquorice (sp) yet had that barnyard feel, very pleasing with great gouts of smoke.

It continued pretty much the same however became more spicy and I guess the aftertaste of slight coffee or something else with that smooth non offensive bitterness.

Not the most amazing smoke out there but I thoroughly enjoyed smoking it and would like to thank it's rotting little carcase for taking me on the adventure.

If you can snag one for under #7.00 or so i'd say definately try it, especially as the label will have you shouting "Spartaaaaaa" out loud....oh god, yes I did.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

The cigar almost makes me want to do everything in slow motion, to yell uncontrollably, and to hire David Wenham to narrate everything i do

LMAO this gives me a great idea to get one of my colleagues to follow me around all day narrating:

And lo, the Yeti arrived at work at work at 08:55 with a slight scowl on his face.LOL

Great review - do you know a UK Stockist or is it simply not available?

Very nice job. Have had two of these and both were very good.

You seem to be a real NC fan.

Im not a NC hater at all, just seem to prefer most Cubans, but I will have to give some more NC's a go.

The Nicaraguan NC's I have had, have tended to be the best.

I'll have to give this bad boy a go.

I'd liken Cubans and Non Cubans to different cuisine, say Chinese and Indian, both have good and bad but overall they are different and I don't think can really be compared to each other.

yeah, I think thats a pretty good analogy. Although I prefer Indian these days [used to prefer chinese] and I like Cubans the best...... confusing... lol.

This is how I feel about it.

Yep, Cubans may be overall a little more three dimensional with taste....but i've had a few plugged messed up ones with burn issues.

For NC's there are loads that are crappy, many that are average, some that are good and a few that are excellent.

To say all NC's are crap is just elitest tosh, the same as saying everything made in Cuba is amazing.

Do you go to your favorite restaurant and only ever order Duck, because duck is the best and you wouldn't dream of eating Lamb because it's rubbish, or pig.....ah...erm I see a hole in my argument

You get the point. When I have smoked every cigar out there then I can say X is best and Y is rubbish, until that day, I'll enjoy the ride.
