  • Yeti Review # 422Two Two....: Trinidad Fundadore

So, tonight I popped down to my local cigar shoppe, which as ever was slightly too humid, what did I bring back?

I've heard alot of people talking great things about Trinidads and my wife to be's family is from the namesake island so at E21.80 I thought it would be a sound investment.

The Trinidad Fundadore is absolutely beautifully built, maybe a few slight veigns and a flawless cap with a little tail. The cap though was tiny so I snipped it off very lean but it drew with only a slight resistance and a huge hint that what was to come was going to be great..

As with any Slim Lancero it was a delight to light, the burn was straight and immediately I had a taste that this was going to be good, after an inch or so I had a taste of leather, pepper, celery (why do I keep getting this) and an almost nutmeg spice to it (as always I may be wrong) the burn continued to be great and I have to say, this was impressing me.

As I continued into the second third of this beauty the same flavours continued but it did seem to become slightly sweeter, there was a bitter aftertaste but quite nice I guess what i'd call cocoa or dark chocolate.

The Fundadore continued to burn straight with a very strong ash that I knocked off every inch and a little, the same sweet peppery, flavours were present until the end, latterly if developed a very sweet almost toffee kind of taste, not too overpowering and really very pleasant.

Yep, you could ssay I loved this one. It was a beautiful smoke, I wish I could afford to buy a box but then i'd be spoiled.

    As for score:

    Drink: Ron Zacapa
Looks: 9.5/10 It looks amazing, a slight veign, very smooth and sliky.
Build: 9.0/10 Nothing to fault other than for a ham fisted bloke like me it was a tiny cap.
Taste: 9.5/10 Predraw was awesome, smoke was awesome if i'd had another i'd have lit it up right away.

    Happy weekend all

    Lonsdale, Laguito Especial.

    Pedantic Puff says
I may be wrong but apart from PL Lanceros which have a factory name at 42 RG & should be a corona variant, all other Lanceros as far as I know have a RG of 38 or less which would make this a fat lancero at 40...slim ?
Apologies to all (very nice review & nice very cigar Yeti!) for this but it'll give you all something to think about while I'm in bed!
