Answer: When you listen to Puff Scotty.
Last week I Reviewed the Monte2 and began a thread on Ready to Smoke Young Recommendations. The Monte2 I think was a little ?past it? and in the RSYR thread Puff Scotty posted this as part of one of his replies.
I have a few 'newish' cigars I can send you to try if you PM your address.
I did, and after a few PMs with Puff Scotty I thought he was sending me a Monte2 at optimum smoking age and maybe a FEW 2010 vitola to try. Well, as you can see, he fibbed!
Now I don?t know how he did it, but somehow he manage to pack all you can see in the picture, plus an acre of bubble-wrap into the small cardboard box which I?ve deliberately left in the background.
Cigars aside for the minute. The box contained:-
A bottle of Johnny Walker Red Label
A bottle of Courvoisier VSOP Cognac
A bottle of Bacardi Superior
A bottle of Jack Daniels Old No.7 Tennessee Whiskey .... and
A Jack Daniels Old No 7 Hip Flask. I?ve never had a hip flask before, but I can already see the mischief potential of loading it up with ginger beer and pulling-up alongside police cars!
So, now we come to Puff Scotty?s idea of a FEW ?ready to go? stogies. True to his word, some are 2010?s .... the rest are just a wee few years different.
From the left. Two NC Flor de Filipinas Coronas Larga and Londres.
RyJ Short Churchill ? 2010
Trinidad Fundadores ? 2003
Cohiba Siglo 5 ? 2010
Cohiba Robusto ? 2010
Montecristo No 2 ? 2002
Punch Coronation ? this one Puff Scotty?s note leaves me to guess at, but the band is the old ?B? band which was discontinued in 2002.
RyJ Romeo 2 TUBOS ? Looks quite easy. Premium tube introduced 2008. But, standard band ?A? discontinued in 2008, so dates just coincide there.
Montecristo TUBOS ? Old style standard tube. Unembossed, 2003-06 standard band ?B?
What can I say. Brilliant gift and well worth being rat-tat-tatted out of the shower for by postie this morning. Thanks Puff Scotty, absolutely brilliant mate. Much appreciated!
Now ..... plot, hatch, plot!
