  • Stopped by the Postie

Well would you believe it... My regular postie 'Graham' normally gets to mine between 2 and 3 in the afternoon as i live in the last village on his postal delivery.

Today for some unknown reason (perhaps coz i was awake half the night) i chose to go to work about 7am. On the way out i see a fluorescent postie jacket step out onto the road ahead of me, arm stretched out like a Police Officer...

I recognise Graham and stopped thinking maybe he had broken down or something and boy is he lucky i was passing by, in the middle of nowhere with the exception of one lonely house where he had clearly just dropped off some post at the beginning of his rounds.

Everything ok Graham says i?? Yes he says, thought id stop you as i saw you, i thought you might like this package.

Oh oh thinks i, im not expecting a package, so he opens up his van, wades through to the back where he pulls a red case forward marked 'Meadow' grabs a package and hands it over and says, have you been ordering cigars.. No says i, havent ordered any in a while..

Jumps back in me old car and heads off to the Office, sign in, source a pair of scissors and snip snip snip...

OMG a very nice bottle has sent me a somewhat VERY expensive cigar, one that for me is out of my price range and therefore would never consider buying, but have often looked at and told myself.. one day when my medical insurance comes through i will invest..

No names, just a card with a cryptic note and a question mark.. I look at the post mark and cant make much from it as the post mark simply says TF.. Where ever that is,,.. But it is in the UK.. So whoever you are living in postcode TF i thank you.. But hang on.. its not over yet! What else do i spy another packet of cigars, some sherbet pips and some Chilli lemon nuts..

Oh sherbet pips.. I like cigars that bring back floods of memories via some of the senses and sensations they give off, never sweets.. oh man, i remember being about 6 years old with old money; sixpence in hand and before grams and kilos, on my way to infant school (the days when it was safe to walk to school aged 6) I would stop off at Barks Newsagents in Werrington, Peterborough where i lived and buy sweets.. always on pocket money day i would buy sherbet pips.. Is my mystery BOTL a mind reader??

So not only did the cigars make me smile, but the sherbet pips made me GRIN!

    So with out further adoo..

    Here are some pics

    1 x Cohiba Genios Maduro no5
    1 x pack of 10 Cohiba Clubs
1 x packet of Natural Sherbet pips
1 x packet of VIP Nuts Chilli lemon flavour

So my unknown BOTL you have made me salivate all morning drooling over sweeties and a very large expensive Cohiba.. and so i thank you humbly

A very nice little package you received there. Lucky boy.

Well done to the mystery bomber (I'm guessing from 'TF' that it's a 'Midlander') - most impressive.
