I received this very generous bonus bomb from Matt last week, Partagas P2 from 2006.
Now some of you may know that Partagas and me just struggle to get along (minus the Luisitania when I am in the mood), that said I refuse to give up on a marca completely. A couple of weeks ago i smoked my first P2 out of a a box I got earlier in the year, and it left me somewhat disappointed that i was unable to detect or translate the flavours into anything coherent. However, this was a 2018 rolled smoke, and from the feedback i got from folks on the forum, it seems these smokes really come alive at the 5-10 year mark, which means I added an aged P2 to my hit list so I can determine if I am keeping the other 23 (and letting them get some serious dust on them), or giving them to folks who can appreciate them better.
Therefore, i was honestly delighted when I opened this surprise bomb, it also made me laugh at how incredibly on point the world seems to work sometimes. It is an unexpected, but entirely perfect thing to have received, and I am really looking forward to seeing what 12 years of age has done to the cigar!
Thank you again, sir!
