Well i tried the first one a week ago and a lot like the other folks experiences it was just inflammable, and incredibly tight (even the perfect drawer couldn't fix it - though that will be down to my crap technique)! So i scrapped it and had a fabulous Epi.2

Tried the second one last night, and it was much looser and easier to light, however once it reached the halfway point it would not burn - I think even Helios would have had a hard time of it!

The flavours i got from it were nice, but the construction really showed that Cuban charm

Thank you for hosting - always great to try a new stick!

I'm not experienced enough to match the flavour profile to any particular brand so I'm not even going to attempt a guess. I would put it in the medium to full bracket for flavour though.

Ah the fine pairing of a cigar with Diet Coke. [emoji23]

The pairing may not work for your taste buds but a Coke with a cigar works for me, especially in the middle of a working day.

Diet coke works really well with a cigar, much better pairing than most alcohol for me.

Coke is the perfect pairing for me but not the sugar free pretender. Sugar counteracts the effect of nicotine and the caramel complements the cigar

Quite disappointed with the quality of these. I don't know the vendor personally but I'll also my friend in France to mention it.

That said, has anybody not looked at the band yet (assuming you all found it tucked away in the envelope)?

Are we ready for the reveal?

Smoked the first of mine yesterday and loved it, draw and burn were spot on.

I was planning to smoke my second one yesterday but the heavens opened
..no I haven't looked at the band...don't actually know where I put it.

*Drum Roll*

July's COTM was a Saint Luis Rey 'Regios' from October 2015. Niela you were a little way out with your guess of age.

It was fun to host, despite the disapointing construction and burn of some of the cigars.

Older than i thought, and a smoke i've never tried before!

Thank you for hosting - true to Cuba; it was certainly an experience

Looks like I was indeed! I never had a SLR before, so maybe they just taste like a fresh D4???

Great choice though!

Only just managed to smoke the first of my two just to illness and allergies through July. Really enjoyed it, my notes say tropical fruit to begin with then moving on to dark fruits and a lot of mention of liquorice, slightly sweet and a bit of spice on retrohale. Box worthy IMO. Thanks for hosting Horsebox
