I suspect that most flavours were covered over by the drinks I paired it with. There were grass/hay
flavours throughout though. Not a complex smoke but enjoyable. Required a couple of purges but
the burn was spot on.

I have no idea what it was.

I smoked mine on tuesday I thhink, I did posted it up on the thread of the day. I think it was non cuban, but apart from that I couldn't tell you anything else. Ready for the reveal if everyone else is.

Currently smoking mine.

Even ignoring the cellophane it's obviously an NC from the construction and wrapper.

I used my v-cutter and it has a slightly tight draw (which I prefer) and a nice, sweet taste to the pre-light draw.

Burn has been excellent so far and this is a well packed, slow burning stick.

Still tastes sweet but with some pepper and I have to say I'm enjoying it.

I'm going to have a stab at CAO, based on nothing more than the fact that it's the only NC marca I've really enjoyed so far.

It is that sweetness I really enjoy in these cigars. I will reveal tomorrow with some details.

Haven't had the opportunity yet and not likely to for at least a week. Go for it Niela

This evening I had mine, I would say it's definitely a NC judging on construction and draw. It went well with a couple of glasses of Roija and a coffee, but it wasn't really my taste, unfortunately I felt it lacked a depth of flavour I like in most Cubans.

Alright, time for the reveal.

I doubted anybody would guess this one, as these cigars are mainly available in the German and Austrian market. And sadly they have been discontinued. So if you liked it, get some while you still can!

The cigar was a DAG La Espada. They are made at the Tabacalera Altagracia in the Dominican Republic.

This is a small factory that produces cigars from an old and wild native tobacco variety. This plant only grows about 3-4 feet tall, so produces less harvest, but was found growing in the wild and got cultivated by the local farmers. The cigar itself is 4 years old.

I like that it has tons of sweetness and I smoked quite a few of them so far. They did taste better in summer than in winter and I find the flavours int he first 2/3rds much better than the last 1/3. But for the price I got them, I see them as great value for money.

I hope nobody was entirely disappointed.

Great COTM Niels. Thank you for hosting.
I will pair my second one with something more suitable and hopefully not cover the flavours.
I did feel that the beers I had were masking some taste.
