Likewise. I've hardly smoked a thing this month. Will try to get a few in this weekend but go ahead and reveal.

No problem gents. The Easter weekend might give everyone a chance of a smoke so I will leave it until next week for the reveal.

IMG_20160325_134442301 (2).jpgI smoked one today... see the pic; it's a handsome beasty. Mine too was a tough draw, and i'd have liked a bit more smoke too. Bizarrely if I blew through it, I got buckets of smoke. But the draw through it and it was substantively less. A quick massage released smoke, and then it gripped up again. BUT heres the thing... I was busy in the garden and smoked it bit by bit by bit, which worked really well. I found it to be light and refreshing. The flavours were not hugely complex, which was not a shortfall at all, and I would probably best describe it as a lovely light tobacco led smoke all the way through. The plug was in the business end of the smoke. And as I headed into the final third I simply lopped off about a centimetre hoping to loose the plug, which did work. Not everyone would go for such a sizeable cut face of the smoke... but it opened up the flow of smoke. This didn't massively change the taste profile mind you. I left it resting on my garage workbench in between draws, and interestingly it gave my garage a smell that was hugely reminiscent of JJ Fox! So, if we hadn't been told it was Cuban, there was no doubt from the smell it left!!! What can it be then? I am stuffed if I know... the last smoke i had that was this tight was a monte petit edmundo... so maybe this is an edmundo? but as I didn't measure it I couldn't confirm if it fits the bill. It was a big old stick... so then I thought 'was it a..... RyJ Wide Churchill? light enough to be one... just not sure again on the measurements....

A good approachable and enjoyable smoke, which was delivered in really very good condition, but with a tight construction at one end that did it a dis-service. I have another, which I am looking forward to greatly... and I cant wait to find out what it is!!!!

That is a fantastic appraisal of the smoke. I'm really sorry to hear that a couple have plugging issues. I hope the rest are OK.

Smoked mine tonight and posted up in the Easter Sunday thread. Well, what could it be? Slow start (hampered by a very tight draw) but picked up towards the last third. It really reminded me of the Mag 46s I did last year, so I'm going to stick my neck out and say H Upmann Royal Robusto
Thanks for sorting these out JT

Cigar of the Month Club March 2016.

Lit this up tonight. Started off with liquorish/sweet notes. 2nd third was mostly mild tobacco flavours. The last 3rd is giving me cut grass and coffee notes.

No idea what it is but an overall enjoyable smoke lasting well over an hour and still going!

No draw issues on this one - all round great construction.

Thanks Johnny Thunder [emoji1360]

Just read CJ's post and did wonder if it was an Upmann of some sort but that's based on my still limited experience. Wouldn't like to wager on the vitola whatsoever.

reading this, I recall the prelight tastes being quite sweet too - deliciously so!

OK gents. Reveal time.

When I put my name forward for hosting COTM, I decided to give the forums a good searching to try and find a smoke
that had not been mentioned too much, but also met certain criteria, mainly to do with cost. I thought I had hit the
jackpot with the one I decided to go with. That was until about four days before I was going to open up the March comp.
PeeJay had decided to grab himself a box and smoke one, and share the pics with everyone. I thought maybe this being
fresh in everyones mind would give the game away. I think I probably got away with it.

I have to say a big well done to CJ for hitting the nail on the head. Well done mate. You are spot on.
Thank you all very much for taking part and making my first hosting a really simple one.

H UPMANN ROYAL ROBUSTO

Well done Johnny Thunder.
My thoughts too about trying to find a not too smoked vitola.
Hopefully mine will be as enjoyable as yours!
