Paying up front is the way to go..although thread is cigar of the month club quarterly is best way to buy in my eyes and we agree which stick will be smoked each month if and when possible the majority of members smoking over the same couple of days.

Pay up front is a must I think so encourage more hosts as not everyone has hundreds free to front the initial cost.
I also don't think buying/send out 3 months worth a time is bad idea as keeps the postage costs more economical and keeps the host turnover down which is important to begin with due to the low participant count I think.

I think to get a decent amount of numbers you will need to be a bit clearer about whats going to happen, really someone needs to take the lead. If you aim it a bit more at the rarer end of the market than standard stock you will do better in getting people interested as well. For a good starter I would say Punch coronas 07 and Ramon Allones Belvederes 02. If you got 8 people interested would work out at 27 ish quid each for 2x 3ers of cigars delivered. They will be new to most of the forum not just the newbies. I think you need to run a different threads for suggestions to be split and have a way to decide Maybe a poll at start of every month or something other than that there is no advantage in it other than walking down to the local and picking up what you want.

Once the firt batch it orderd, if everyone pays every month then the host can buy a box a month and dispatch 3 months a time each quarter. That way its only the first month that has 1 big buy.

Hopefully someone like yourself can guide the less knowledgeable of us to some excellent choices.

I really like rascal's ideas and I for one would like the more unusual cigars to be picked. Even if I end up not liking the cigar that is chosen I'd still find the process fun and I'd want to smoke three to decide if its for me or not anyway as my taste buds seem to work differently on different days anyway so I think its seems like something I'd be interested in now but also going forward.
