Hey Marc, yes, I'm just looking to adjudicate in case things get messy which I'm sure they won't.

On the old Club Havana forum we had a very slick setup whereby, once a month someone would buy a box (or 2) and split it between all the participants. The buyer was on a rolling basis. We had a maximum price of around ?10-12 per stick and each recipient would get three sticks each.

Obviously you lads would set how many sticks you'd want to receive per month based on budget

Just a suggestion of how it could work....

Sounds like a decent idea, I think Steve's idea of more at a time is a better idea as your money is not going to go far on one stick if you have to pay ?4.30 each month for posting one stick? Get ten people involved and you could split 2 full boxes. I also think you are bringing too many ideas into the one. Having a blind tasting cigar of the month together all together with a box split makes it all a little busy but I have no horse in the race so feel free to shoot me down.

That's a very fair point based on the postage costs mate. Seems to make quarterly the more sensible approach. I can certainly see the advantage of rolling buyer unless someone travels a lot so can offer prices on sticks the rest of us can't match.

Yes stevie it certainly is however surely they could be posted out quarterly and stored until the appropriate month. Surely this is better than the situation where the postage is 45% of the sticks value.

I thought the whole point of this thread is to have a monthly club not a quarterly. If it's done too infrequently, folks will forget, get bored, drop off the forum...I've seen it happen before but hey, it's up to you guys.....

I was thinking posting quarterly yet smoking monthly just to offset the post cost per stick. The reason I've not offered to host yet is I'm spending most weeks working away due to starting my own business. Once I'm a bit more sorted i'll happily take a turn.

How do you propose it would work? Are you meaning that the host buys three different boxes and sends three months worth out at once to save on postage? That would work but it's a fair amount of money for the host to ante up...

Yes that's essentially what I'm proposing, tho I'd have no problem paying first avoid the host having to lay out hundreds of their own money.
What's your thoughts stevie since you've obviously seen plenty of ideas come and go on here.

As with any group buy, we all know there can occasionally be issues with buying in cigars. Like a group buy we would have to agree beforehand were in it together or out of it together..... No half and half.

I'm happy to pay up front for mine. Or even pay some of the initial cost to help the first host. Or even be the first host if no one want to. So far there aren't that many takers so it could be done with singles. Whatever is decided I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Paying up front is the way to go..although thread is cigar of the month club quarterly is best way to buy in my eyes and we agree which stick will be smoked each month if and when possible the majority of members smoking over the same couple of days.
