Pass the cigar - who wants to play?

Being a newbie I had to look up just what a cigar pass entails and it would appear that someone puts together a box of say ten assorted cigars and passes it to the next player who takes out up to five that he fancies and passes it on to the next player and so on. Discussing this with MarkLondon we realised that a) I didn't have ten I wanted to let go yet and b) that would wipe him out. I would guess that would be the same for a lot of newbies.

So, how about this?

We'll have a chain of ten players and I'll start off by passing a cigar to the second and so on till it comes back around to me, hopefully everyone will get something new to try.

THE RULES:

The cigar must cost at least ?5 or equivalent
When you get it post a photo and a review (or add your opinion to an existing review)
Post yours on properly packaged so no one is disappointed by receiving a broken stick
Be prepared to send again if it gets lost in the post or post it recorded (defaulters will be named and shamed)

if you want to play, copy and paste the list adding your name at the end. I'll put Mark at #2 but I won't pass to him to start as we exchanged some sticks today.

Sounds like a great idea. Your second idea sounds like more like a stick a stick. Where you would set a number of cigars to be traded and get a few people to join in them someone randomly mixes up the list and gives everyone a partner to trade with or makes it 1 send to 2. 2 sends to 3. 3 sends to 4 then 4 send to 1. can make it quite fun as the receiver will have no idea who sent it. Box passes are real fun as well but end up with a lot of work for the organiser as you really want someone to approve what people are taking and putting as some people take the piss with taking 5 very nice sticks and put in 5 no where near as nice sticks.

Once the list is complete we'll play it like this.

I'll send out the first cigar. When it arrives you PM me and I'll reply with who to send yours to so the recipient doesn't know who its coming from, apart from me at the end of course. I'm sure the amateur detectives amongst you will work it out of course.

I could put together a 5 stick box, get that sent out then you guys could decide whether to swap in/out 1,2,3 sticks and forward the box on to the next guy?

I will play if you will have me. I think I have some stuff in the humidor that will qualify. If it is only a single cigar I don't think HMRC will have any problems. Just let me know an address to send it too. And just in case HMRC gets the indivdual for duties let me know and I can do a [EDITED] to that individual.

Probably not best to advertise on a public forum an intention to post Cuban goods to an American, probably nothing would come of it but if it did then there would be written evidence of his prior knowledge..... I don't know how serious a crime they consider it.
