  • I Apologise..well not really!

I have in the past decried NC's as flavourless, boring, sometimes downright awful piece's of crap....
& have been absolutely right on many occasions..enough for me to stay with Cuban's for 35 years or more..
Well it's all changing..thanks to the likes of young Mr Bails & several other champion NC BOTL's..
I can now start to sample recommended NC's from everywhere...
Received from that generous Brother Bails just this a.m. a nice little goodies bag which I am looking forward to trying...Bails 001.jpg

Thank you big time, I've always said not all NC smokers can be mad! (honest I did... )

very nice indeed. im a big fan of NCs, loads of good cigars to try if you can find them hidden in the piles of crap ones. from my experiance though, you can go wrong with AVO or fuente! enjoy...

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

I assume that's 'can't go wrong with AVO or funente?
PS: Of course Puff only took a little persuassion, IMHO, alot more of us would be willing to give unknown NC's ago ....if they were free! It's just that these days many NC's are similar or even more than some Cubans & that sure puts me off being adventureous.

I love the non Cubans I like trying them its a difference of bourbon and single makes to me so I have both in my humidor, I agree though depending on location the price differential isn't quite where it should be, perfect example is Don Carlos double robusto in the us 200 bucks in the UK 455 but not many retailers supplying so monopoly for whomever brings them in, but regius in the UK are starting to be priced quite competitively, 135 quid for 25 coronas

You know, guys, disposable income has a lot to do with choice of smokes. I enjoyed decades of good salary and, although I was never over the top, I also enjoyed some of the good things in life. Among those things were Cuban cigars and I focussed on Cohibas and Montecristos, with the occasional Bolivar. Then loomed retirement and the prospect of reduced circumstances. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not heading for the poorhouse just yet. When it came to my indulgences I began to do my sums and decided that there was life - good life - beyond Cubans. Thus my quest for NCs with which I am being helped by several Forum members. I have smoked quite a few NCs in the last month and look forward to smoking many more. The Cubans, like fast cars, are almost memories - but fond ones.

the thing I think is that too many try ncs and always look for them to be "like a Cuban" as soon as you let them be on there own merits your in for some nice smokes (and some not so nice but the same applies to cc)

Also, I do know a few cigar smokers that are so far up their own a$$e they wouldn't be seen dead with anything but a Cuban...

Now, now Scotty - take the pills and calm down. We know you're right but you mustn't ruffle too many feathers ! Try to play nicely with the other children.
