  • Bombed!

Yesterday the postman delievered a tube with four cubans inside...a gift from one of my pipe customers. It sure did make my day! I think today or tomorrow I'll enjoy one of them. So, to add to my small collection, is a Cohiba II and III from 2007, also a Trinidad Reyes and a rare La Gloria Cubana No.3. from 2002.

Very nice bomb! If you're going to smoke one of them this week end, don't choose the LGC No.3. Let it rest/acclimate for a few days, these thin panatelas are fragile, they must be at the right humidity (supple but not too wet, not too dry) to be enjoyed.

Jesus...does he have to be wearing any particular colour socks while smoking it?

Would you drink a fine wine that has just been delivered, after a trip in a cold truck where it was shaken? No, you let it rest. Same for cigars.

          Alright son...calm down.

Are you offering to send me a nice Bordeaux?

The second Cohiba is not a Siglo III as it has a pigtail. I would suggest it is a 2003 or older Corona Especiales (as it has an old style band).

You're right but then the first Cohiba must be an Exquisito: a Siglo II has a larger (42) ring gauge than the corona especiale (38). Even the Reyes (rg 40) looks larger than this Cohiba…

                Yup, no Siglos at all.

Thanks, guys. You are right, there are no Siglos. It is an Exquisitos and Especiales. Now I have an excuse to order a couple of Siglos. I'm glad you discovered my error before I lit up and destroyed the evidence.

Especiale is my absolute favourite smoke, especially an aged one which normally gives you full on coffee bean flavour, just superb
