So you can rule out a bad humidity reading.

Okay, that being the case, it's appears that the himidor walls are soaking up the humidity. Thus, I would consider a second seasoning for the unit if you believe the lid seal is fine.

And the seal isn't amazing buts its been fine since I got it in the summer so I can't imagine it would be that.

"not amazing" isn't satisfactory, specially if the RH in your flat is very dry due to central heating, and if the humidor is almost empty.
I would
1/ work on that seal
2/ put a bunch of cheap cigars in the humi, for buffer effect.
