Many congrats Eddie & Gemma, how did those times compare with last yr? Congrats to Monkeynuts, a great prize to win. And of course thanks to Smokeymo for donating the prize in the first place.

For Gem is was slower, but injuries prevented the training she wanted to do.
It was my first therefor a PB But also due to injuries my training was very poor. Infact the longest I had run was a half marathon once and a 9.3mile run before that. And that was a month ago. So I'm happy to even finish it. Pain was my main limiting factor not exhaustion which was very annoying to say the least.
Ah Pain! It's the body's way of telling you to slow down. That's the trouble with training for a particular event rather than getting fit enough to run a marathon & then boking in to the next one available or waiting longer if you are carrying injuries. Have a good rest now & then start the training much earlier for next yr & get sufficent road work in so that the big day isn't such a strain.

A big well done to Eddie and Gemma, doing a marathon is hard enough if you've done all the right training, so doing it when you've done nowhere near enough must have been agony! I was always told to make sure that my five longest training runs in the lead up to a marathon totalled at least 100 miles!!!
I hope you both raised all the money you hoped for, and I'll see on the start line next year
