    Cigar Roller in Scotland

Just a heads up to fellow scots on the board or others who may be in the country. Jimmy from H&F has informed me of the next cigar roller tour in Scotland...

"Berta Thorp (who you may remember from 2009) will be in Scotland from Monday 15th to Saturday 20th August. I am still awaiting final confirmation of where she will be when. But that is the week to keep your eye on."

will keep you posted as more info is released...

Oh I'm pleased. H&F did promise it, I wrote about on here sometime ago. Make use of the roller, the tobacco is usually very very good.

Berta's a lovely, lovely woman. Be nice to her, she has some english but not fluent. She came out with her nephew to the baseball in February and enjoyed herself.

Excellent news. Finally reaching the provinces. Now we just need them to get within about three counties of the West Country...

Give Linda a call. she definately said 18th and 19th. I dont know how Berta is going to get room to roll cigars and have customers in the shop at the same time, there isn't room to swing a cat. The shop number is 01412487283.

Details have been put up on Hunters & Frankau website as follows:

Monday 15th - Cigar Box, High Street, Edinburgh, 10am-5pm

Wednesday 17th - Robert Grahams, Rose Street, Edinburgh, 10am-5pm

Thursday 18th - Robert Grahams, West Nile Street, Glasgow, 10am-5pm

Given the dates that were initially posted, I presume there are more visits to be confirmed but that's all they've detailed so far.

                              Guys,

the dates for the Scottish tour are:

Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th August - Cigar Box, Edinburgh

Wednesday 17th August - Robert Grahams, Rose Street, Edinburgh

Thursday 18th & Friday 19th August - Robert Grahams, Glasgow.

Berta is Head of Quality Control at El Laguito (home of Cohiba) and has worked in the cigar business for over 28 years. Her current role positions her as second in command at one of Cuba's flagship factories so it's well worth taking the time to pay her a visit if possible.

She is flying up on the Monday so the initial start time may be a little later than 10am but we are doing our best to get her there early.

After Scotland she's off to Wales for a few days too, she will also be visiting Ireland and Gibraltar. Click here for her entire tour dates. They're mixed up with other cigar events but it shouldn't be too difficult to track her.

                              Any questions just PM me.

                              Best Wishes,

                              JM
