  • After Burn!

kaffeetrinker_2.gifWhile reading the "How long do you take" thread, it occurred to me that a few blokes may be extending their smoking time by relighting their sticks after a bit of a rest. I generally do not do this as a rule, but occasionally will re-light a puro after an unexpected interruption, but only after no more than 1/2 hour. minzdr.gif

I have also heard about those who actually enjoy re-lighting a half-smoked cigar the day after.

How about you guys? Anyone else relight their stick?

If I take a draw and it's gone out I'll give the foot a blast from the torch lighter to get it smouldering again, I won't leave it for any amount of time certainly not the next day!

Only if it I let it go out by not giving it the attention it deserves, and I relight immediately and purge

Occasionally a cigar will just go out during a session (usually in the middle of a conversation), and I don't see a problem with lighting that back up. I usually purge following any kind of light though (and TJ have you tried the 'flamb? purge' as recommended by docstogiefresh in that video you showed me? i'm a bit of a convert after trying it out, but will need to give it a few more tests to be sure).

I once relit a CAO Brazilia Gol! the next day just out of curiosity and it was foul. Never again...

sometimes i relight it deliberately. if a cigar is too mild I find that letting it go out and relighting will give it strength. I dont relight anything after the half hr mark...nasty mofos

Touch up's if it's going off kilter, a relight if I'm disturbed and she goes out. Anything after 10 mins & she gets binned!

I'm with everyone else on this. If it's gone out because I've not been attending it properly then I'll give it a re-light and a purge. Same if I have my attention diverted for a brief period (for me that would be a maximum of 10-15 minutes). I would not re-light the next day.

As an aside, if I'm within about an inch of the nub, then I may not bother with a re-light regardless.

                Clarification!

Hmmmm, I guess I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

I meant to say letting a cigar go out and and putting it down for awhile before re-lighting, such as when you hear the dinner bell in the middle of a double robusto.

Hell, my puros often go out during a session, which is usually a good time to do a Purge Flambe bad_boys_20.gif
