I've been a cigar fan since 2007, sampling many Cubans and NCs over the years, many thanks to kind bombs here at UKCF, many of which are still ageing gracefully in my Humi!
To me a good smoking experience is a cigar with a good draw, one that requires a bit of 'suck', but doesn't make you turn green in the face. This will produce a lovely plume of grey/blue neon smoke. Ahhh.
A good sign is a nice white ash building up, I know that it's burning well. If there is a strong ash, more power to that stogie! Minimal correction with sideburn is also a great factor in a great smoke. If I can get great smoke, flavour and experience, then the cigar is a win for me.
This leads me onto my favourite cigar, The Georges Reserve Cigar, which is a 'value' brand made by the chaps at Oliva. A conneticut shade stogie coming in many forms of vitola.
Everytime I've pulled out a George, I know i'm in for a relaxing, graceful smoke. Fantastic burn, great strong ash, and a draw that has always been fantastic. I've never had one with pathetic plugged construction, or anything that has made me doubt the brand. I'm glad I have around 20 churchills and 4 torpedos left to get through as they are reliable as time.
Here's to you Georges Reserve! If you have one in your humi that you've been doting on, get smoking today!
If I were American, I would get a humi full.
