Don't inhale unless you're Chuck Norris as it's bloody sore!!
The thing about smoke coming out your nostrils means it must have been slightly inhaled into the trachea to be exhaled through the nostrils...I understand why it's done ie to change the flavour profile but I avoid it

Definitely don't inhale unless you want to cough your dinner up
Sometimes I take a draw, hold it for a few seconds then exhale 90%, then gently let the last 10% exit via the nasal passage, you can pick up some very subtle flavours this way. Just don't do it as part of every draw, it also only tends to only be good when the cigar is smoking very smooth and creamy.Exploring the world - one smoke at a time.

Only real men inhale
If it's a really good cigar often I'll leave the smoke in my mouth to cool, blow most out of my nose and the last little bit is saved as a present for my lungs. If it isn't a really good cigar I'll ditch it then bury it with sodium bicarbonate.FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS SMOKE NC'S!

I have found going back to cigars I thought I knew and using this technique has been really refreshing, picking up on things I might have previously missed. It's like rereading a good book, or watching a detective film again when you know the ending and trying to pick out the clues.
You should try and do it once the cigar has gotten going a little bit, maybe just after 5 mins, and you might want to avoid it on strong cigars and towards the end if they get a bit peppery or spicy.

Simon, I tend to inhale the fist draw. This usually sets out how I will smoke the cigar. If the first draw defeats my lungs, I'll be very careful with the cigar but if it doesn't, I can then relax knowing that an occasional inhalation won't send me to A&E!No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.

Slightly off-topic: the Swedish expression (slang) for exhaling via ones nose is "Dragon Puff"!
