  • Fonseca KDT Cadetes - Paper or no paper?

Hi. New to this forum. I have been causally smoking the occasional cigar for about two months now, and am still feeling my way around the brands. Among the last bundle of singles that i purchased is a Fonseca KDT Cadete. This may be a pointless question, but is the idea to smoke it with the little white paper around it, or without? This is the first cigar i've encountered that is presented this way.

    Thanks.

Take the paper off, it's for presentation purposes only, though I suppose it might add some protection if the cigars are being carried in a shirt pocket.
Burning paper on the cigar would not be a pleasant experience at all.

I thought so. I just thought it was weird that the band is over it.

The story goes that bands originally had a practical purpose on the cigar, very quickly that shifted to marketing.
Fonsecas have always been wrapped that way. Nice mild cigar, there are a few with a bit of age on them about the place.

Interesting, i did have a little accident a while ago that ended with me inhaling a large amount of paper smoke, it was really discusting, burns your throat lol.

And those cigars in the aluminum tubes: Take the tube off before lighting. Trust me on this one, you don`t want to take the time required to get that tube to draw.
