Tubular, Mun!
Amigo, I don't believe tubes are a reliable method for maintaining the humidity. When stored in a humidor, they should retain the same humidity level established in your humidor. Some take them out of the tube for storing, others remove the caps. I just leave them in their tubes (in the humidor, of course) until I'm ready to enjoy 'em.

I know this has come up before & the thing to remember is that the cigar dealers do not remove the caps & we can buy then yrs old, if they have been kept properly they are still fine, the maturation is slower the the flav's can be wonderful. I keep mine sealed & only have two over dry sticks.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

I suppose it depends on whether you like the stick at the shops humidity level or if you tweek it slightly / dry box them. The new charity auction: http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthr...lighter-raffle

I am rapidly moving to favour sealed (ish) containers for mid-term storage. I now keep all my tubo's in tubes (and boxes in bags). Then I keep them all in a humidified environment. When you crack open a bag or tubo after a few months the smell is fantastic and this has to translate to a better smoke IMHO.
NB - these are not fully airtight so any discrepant in humidity level will correct itself over a few months.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these
