  • cigars for friends?

Do you guys keep around some special cigars for your buddies? ... or are you kind enough to share whatever you have in your humidor?

  • #2
I generally only smoke fairly decent sticks. It is a bit of a waste to give someone who fancies trying a cigar a well aged Cuban. It is unlikely they will enjoy it, let alone appreciate it. In this instance it is always useful to have a few less special sticks available. Of course the flip side is some of my friends don't smoke regularly but do appreciate a good smoke, they always get well looked after

I always make sure there's something that is going to challenge a friend's palate without steadily breaking my banks stached away!

I do keep some lesser cigars for when I'm cutting the grass/ washing the car etc. Or for those who want a cigar but don't smoke.
Nothing really bad..... Jose la pedra cazadores, rg panatella extra, erdm choix supreme (from a box that hasn't excited me )

If someone is here that appreciates a special cigar I give them the run of the humi. The only rule is, if I only have 2 left of a specific cigar, choose something else.
It aint where ya from, its where ya at!

My sharing has paid off, just recently a friend who had never tried cigars showed a little interest, with a little instruction from the start about how to smoke and what to look for he has taken the plunge and bought his own humi, along with a variety of sticks. So for the price of about 10 sticks over a year I now have a new herf buddy who is more than willing to share his own new collection.

Just to note, the cigar that got him hooked was a Partagas SD No4, always a quality smoke

I remember a few years ago, I gave a friend a very good cigar at a party he was having in his garden. I went back there the next morning to help them clear up the mess and found the cigar on the lawn with only about 2 inches smoked.

Never again...now he can have a f**king King Edward.

We have really good friends who always (once a week definitely) invite us to their house to try some new Cuban cigars, and we are inviting them back, so it’s quite great to enjoy smoke with them, does not matter how precious cigars we are sharing with them at that time

If im in a good mood i let them sit down wind. If i know they have there own collection, i would let them select, sometimes i shut there fingers in if they get too close to something precious.
