I find that as a general rule, the larger the ring guage, the more firmly I need to draw, a slender cigar can get a bit hot for me unless I'm very gentle on the draw. I usually exhale through both nose and mouth. It's mainly through the mouth for me, I would guess about 10-20% through the nose, but it's not something I really think about - it's whatever gives you the most enjoyment from your cigar

The reason I ask is that I always have a good old tug, blow about 90% of the smoke out and then do an 'Irish waterfall' or French inhale; sucking the remaining 10% of smoke in through my nose and out through the mouth.

I certainly don't feel like any smoke is getting into my lungs and I don't want any there either!

Unless you can do a fancy trick with your nasopharinx, yes you will be inhaling into your lungs. Try filling your mouth and breathing it out through your nose to excite your olfactory receptors.
