Just thought I would post a little write up on this new cigar store which opened in Newcastle recently. I managed to find time out over the weekend on Saturday to visit this great new shop recently opened in the north east and is the only shop in this area, bar a small one in Durham. It is only a short drive for me and honestly well worth a long drive to visit this shop. My experiences with cigar retailers or B&M’s which claim to be specialist tobacconists over the years has often left me disappointed as always the search for these said shops leads me far and wide and often the expectations just don’t live up to reality! I’m sure there are many more B&M out there to find that are wonderful places I just haven’t visited them yet.
But anyway when news reached of this new specialist tobacconist open just down the road in Newcastle I had to visit. I found the shop with ease located right in the centre of Newcastle entering the store you pass the large walk in humidor which looks the business and the shop in general is fairly large and offers a wide selection of pipes and pipe tobacco. The accessories are excellent offering an extensive range of quality lighters, cutters, cases etc..

The staff are excellent very friendly bunch always happy to chat and talk, I had a lengthy chat with them about the shop and business and plans for the future.
>>
At the moment they cannot offer any sampling facilities but that is purely because they have only been open for business two weeks and law states they cannot offer this until as a business they can prove bulk of their sales is of specialist tobacco (cigars etc) as opposed to cigarettes which they do sell also.
>>
They are a family run business with a shop over in Carlisle which is frequented regularly by cigar aficionados from the North East, which is why they have opened in Newcastle, so obviously they are not new to this kind of stuff and are aware of their target market and just need time to get the shop recognised within the area which I’m sure once word of mouth is spread they will be fine.
>>
The plan is to eventually organise a monthly cigar club and sampling sessions once they become a little more established, great news to hear for me as it’s something us northern folk just don’t get the chance to get involved in with everything tending to happen in the capital!!
>>
Anyhow I’ve waffled slightly so I’ll get to what most will want to hear about, their cigar stock, the walk in humi is excellent and well stocked with some cracking smokes they have the usual culprits which im sure you are all aware of but also surprising to me they had some great LE available and UK Regionals i picked up for myself
Partagas Serie D No 1 LE 2004
Partagas Serie D No 3 LE 2006
Monte Robusto LE 2006
BHK 56

I also spotted some cohiba DC LE 2003 available as singles and some lovely looking aged trini fundadores with the old gold band available as singles but cannot remember the box code needless to say there stock is great and well kept. They also offer a varied amount of NC too for those keen they had some great looking Olivas mainly the series V range.

Anyway I’ve rambled enough but would finish by saying I’m over the moon to finally have a local B&M with a great selection of smokes well worth a visit.
