One to ponder .... Living in the UK, do we actually need

Found what I thought was an empty monty petit tubo in a drawer opened it happy days there was a monty in there 3 years in a sideboard it was perfect bought this before I had any idea about humidification cigar maintainance should I just buy tubos and forget about catlitter Heartfelt Drymistat Boveda 70/70 65/70 should I keep them in something suitable and relax ?

OK, you have piqued my interest Arf as these are very valid points. I'm going to 'sacrifice' a couple of cigars I reckon I know well and just keep them in a wooden box (to buffer rapid changes) to see. I may also wrap one in clingfilm and see how that fares. I'll update with results in a few months!

Keeping cigars at a reasonably constant level of Temp & RH is more important than the almost impossible to achieve RH 70 % - Temp 70c, without mechanical means.
The vagaries of temp & relative humidity are best shown on a graph chart. Unfortunately, my PC skills are not up to the standard of my humidor keeping. Which I’ve been doing a lot longer than I suspect most of you guys have been on this earth.

I have visited Cuba many, many times, and yes the affluent Cuban has his humidor of sorts. But more often than not the man in the street has a wooden box or tin which he keeps wrapped in a cloth in the cupboard. That said, I suspect he never has more than 25 Reloba’s to endure
Possibly tippexx is nearer the truth than it first appears . Or the so called "Self Appointed Media Cigar Aficionados" would have us believe-IMHO

You could be onto something tip old boy. The great humi-con. I think I will also join the test, take two identical cigars, put one in my over tended desktop and another in a loose baggy in the draw and then a parallel smoke in a couple of months.

Go to wilkinsons in your town centre, get a 1.5l kilner jar for ?4. If you need humidification then order some heartfelt from the states (beolw the VAT threashold). Get a digi hygro if you feel the need. Not much more expensive, but after some research i thought it was better value

I've still got to sort out a wooden box for this experiment. Probably means rearranging stuff...

Are the Ikea ones square? Mine is lying down because of people saying about damage if cigars are stored on their ends. I have no car so wilkinson is much easier. I think Ikea do really long ones. The 1.5L jar has a limit of about 6 inches.
