  • RyJ PoW draw problem?

    Hi guys,
Had a great day yesterday, the only let down being the draw on the PoW, it wasn't 'plugged' but I struggled getting anything worthwhile out of it!
no big deal as I've only got 2 but anyone else had this problem & better - does anyone know a cure ... this one came out of the humidor at 67-68%.
    Cheers,

Some cigars seem more susceptible to this than others so I'll do a test draw on those before lighting. If it seems too tight I put it back in the humi for a few more months. Or try a draw poker.

Hi Dave, thanks for that, is there any equipment available for "a test draw" , I think they use some sort of vacuum pump in the factories now & I wonder if anyone has any bumpf on this.
I suffered some facial damage (improvement some say,) in the forces & have feeling problems around my lower face so sometimes it is difficult to get a judgement orally.
      regards Puff.

I'll look into it and see if I can design something easy to make.

They use this device: the Drawmaster by IMTEC http://www.imtec-inc.com/products.htm since the mid 2000's.

but they never used it on the PoW, discontinued in 2002!

The Prince of Wales is probably the cuban cigar that has the most instances of plugs and tight draws.

Puff. was the problem something like this?

If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Nice chappie (I thought) gave them to me on the way back from Kef a couple of years back... tried one then & if I remember right it was a fairly good stogie... no idea of year apart from it's pre '07.

                  Bugger yer good wiv werds!

It lit easily enough - but what doesn't with a torch, but although between my fingers: my favourite testing tools, it felt good to the pinch, not at all like the Rock 'ards I've had sometimes. It just really was toooo hard to get a pull on with nothing visual or tactile to say why, hence me

A fair bit of kit that! looks initially old fashioned but fit for purpose... 2 or maybe 3 downsides, to big for an individual (I think) Voltage & price + 240v trans...
But big thanks, from the PDF & with others help, gleaned enough of the principals to have a crack at building my own.....

                        I can't imagine there's much of a demand.

Perhaps something could be fashioned using an asthma peak flow meter?
