  • Average cost per day for the 'gars.

    Hi guys,

After being an addict to the small but delicious dutch cigarillos i now wish to do the Davidoff and smoke less often but more expensive and i got to thinking about whether i should just be aiming to spend more in the single gar and still spending the same daily total OR going for broke and just upping my daily expenditure on the 'gars and sacrificing spending elsewhere. What do you lot do in terms of spending on an average 'gar day?

All the best and a happy new year!

Spend as much as you like and can afford. Set aside some money to buy some nice smokes then decide how often you want to smoke and if you can afford that rate. Your decision at the end of the day.

Well I have $3 NC cigars to ?30 CC and everything in between. I smoke on average maybe 2 cigars a week so average ?20 a week I guess. Sometimes more, sometimes less. However I don't go out much to the pub so cigar smoking is my big vice/treat.

I go for a cigar between ?20-100 every two weeks on average. If I had more money I'd probably even out on a cigar every 2-3 days. I can't afford boxes, I go to London haunts to smoke.
I think the important thing to remember is, even with little money you can enjoy top top cigars, just less of them. I really have very little money to live on but I spend out on cigars. Its just a question of what you're willing to sacrifice to smoke cigars and whether its worth it?

I smoke about 7 cigars a week on average (not necessarily everyday, but sometimes more than one in a day)... probably spending ?50 a week, but I buy most of my cigars when I'm abroad. However it's easy to spend ?60 in a day once in a blue moon if I'm smoking "out".

This is how I would answer. Nobody can set your budget or smoke std for you.
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)

If you need to feed a nicotine habit, enjoy yourself and do it on a budget have you considered smoking a pipe? For ?30 you can get everything you need to start.

After spening the last 4yrs building up my stock, I have a running avge per stick & it's E7.30. It seem to hover around that mark consistantly. I have a couple over E30, a few over E22, the majority E6-14 but also quite a few that I paid around E1.5-2 & still fine smokes for the right occasion.
As I smoke an avge of 2-3 a week (not smoking for 6/12 a year offshore, helps keep the cost down, as well as resting the liver), means my habit costs around E15-20. Knowing that the smokes I am now smoking, would cost so much more to buy off the shelf now only adds to my pleasure

I do need to feed a nicotine habit, enjoy myself, and do it on a budget - i don't see the point in smoking otherwise. But, i tried pipes for some time to no avail - partly due to the resting times in between smokes so you have to carry a few pipes around... the mess they make... and all the add ons... and more importantly i much prefer the taste of cigars.

Whooah Sleepy.. smoked 40-60 Marlboro a day to feed the nicotine habit...it wasn't a nicotine habit, just a habit!
Gradually weaned off & onto cigars & have smoked on average 2 (biggies)a day for the past 30 years (now increasing to 3 'cos I've got more time).
I smoke now for enjoyment & when I want but have noticed that I'll smoke far more in quantity if they are littlies... it's more a time management thing than nicotine dependancy...& yes! I do have a pkt of Marlboro in the Humidor for that, now very rare, "I need it & I need it now" moment!

                          Cost per Cigar

I tend to smoke about 4-5 cigars a week - more if I'm on holiday / leave. Cost depends where I get my cigars from. I tend to buy boxes and try and make them last, although box prices in the UK are steep - especially for the larger vitolas. This can be averaging out at between ?15-20 a day which is a lot of cash. I managed to redress the balance a little bit when I visited Cuba a couple of years back - bought back as many as I was legally allowed (4 boxes) and prices were approximately a third of those over here in the UK. I will always seek out out info regarding cigar shops if I do go abroad anywhere, in the hope that I may drop on....internet is a good tool for market research ref cigars, and I enjoy the pleasure of trawling through the websites. Nick.
