I’ve experimented with just about every type of way to cut a cigar including this. Easy to cut again if it gets unpleasant. These days I keep to the v-cut, punch or regular cutter.
Won't the slits close up as the heat causes the tobacco to expand?
Might do. But this happens with the rolled tobacco in the cigar anyways. Could always cross cut like this and remove some of the cap in little squares too ofc. Will try for fun .. on a cheap cigar see how it plays out.
