I've had two out of three pass through unchecked and the middle one came with an apology text from the Royal Mail for misdirecting it hence the slip. You should only order from abroad if you're prepared to pay the full price if necessary. Save it for something you can't buy here. And to be clear, we're talking about paying duty if asked for it, not evading it.

Fully agree about duty, and happy to pay what is due as long as it is calculated fairly (which isn't always the case, leading to having to seek a refund). I personally believe a lot of cigars are still cheaper than buying over here even after fees.
