  • Off to Germany next week -some advice on what to buy

Hello hoping somebody might be able to give me a spot of advice.

I am off to Germany next week for some cigar shopping. When I am in the UK I enjoy a Montecristo Master or a Partagas no4 I am lead to believe I am unlikely to find these in Germany. Does anybody have any suggestions for something similar to these I might be able to obtain when over there?

A friend also enjoys the AB Texas Lancero so I'm going to get a box of those to try too.

I have been contemplating the Camacho - Gordo anybody got any experience with those?

    Thanks for any help offered

I think Stevieboy will back me up on this, keep an eye out for the Plasencia brand which you should be able to get at a very sensible price. I'd also look for New World by AJ Fernandez, San Lotano especially The Bull, Skel Ton and Capitol. If you're feeling flush you could pick up an Opus X at a better price than the UK.

Where will you be for shopping?

Luciano the dreamer, as a lancero is superb. Fiat Lux from Luciano is also outstanding. And I would definitely urge you to try the Four Kicks by Crowned Heads.

Depends on where you're going. I go to Berlin regularly and haven't seen a Cuban in ages. But there's lots of New world to be found. Sorry I can't be of more help but I not a big NW smoker.

Cigarworld is in Düsseldorf, the largest cigar store I've ever heard of. You will find it hard to find anything similar even in the US.

I would suggest you sit down in their lounge and try a few before you buy.

If you look for a bargain, try the Dalay Nicaragua and Dalay Honduras Dunkel. The Nicaragua in particular is very good value for money.

Thanks yes I'm heading there on Thursday. I'm going to buy a few of the suggestions here and smoke them back at my air B&B on the balcony and I particularly like I'll go back for a few more before coming back to the UK.

I assume you can just use the shop and don't have to have a pre booked slot for the lounge to use the shop, is that right?

I'm pretty sure you can just walk in, it's a large room. Share some pictures.

I'd pick up a selection if your going to cigarworld, they have some good factory overrun cigars that are extremely cheap if you want a bargain.

I'm in Germany went to cigar world. Wow what a place. Sadly too many guys buying cigars to get pics, but these are what I bought.

Such a good experience, the guy serving was amazing, took a photo of my list and just popped off and got them all. £170 very very well spent

Nice selection, enjoy! As a matter of interest, what is their current Cuban selection like?

It's almost too much, isn't it? I often order online from them and it's rare that I am looking for something they don't have. But also almost impossible to decide what to go for.
